Come to the Hurd Manor for a weekend filled with fun and mystery. Each murder mystery weekend at the Lady Mary Inn has a theme tailored to the group. All guests will receive character personas in advance of arrival to allow each guest time to practice their role and to come prepared with festive outfits specific for their character. Each guest also receives a “fact & gossip” sheet in advance, but not everything is clear.

All guests of The Lady Mary Inn participate as characters. Only after the characters sort through evidence, gossip and search for clues to unravel an evening of scandal, treachery and murder, will the murderer be revealed.

“The Murder Mystery event at the Lady Mary Inn was a very immersive experience - from the moment we arrived and began to mingle with the other guests, everyone was in character and remained in character for the entire evening.  Ryan’s preparation and communication with us before the event helped us to feel prepared, and encouraged to take the creative license needed to become part of the story.  And the setting is beautiful - the Inn is a stunning property and is the perfect venue to make the story come to life. 

This was my first time taking part in a murder mystery, and I really enjoyed playing my character.  As the evening went on, I was also impressed at how committed the other participants were to their characters.  In fact, when it came time to break character and have dinner I had a really hard time believing the other participants when we introduced our real selves to each other.  The owners are amazing hosts - they put on this amazing event for 16 of us and served a delicious dinner afterwards, with such grace and hospitality that we felt like we were in our own home. The entire evening exceeded my expectations.  

If anyone is looking for a relaxing weekend getaway in Maine and a unique experience for a group, this is it.  We are grateful for this experience, and we will definitely be back!”
